I've been going here for years now. I usually go here when I'm craving Taiwan Toast, bbq pork bun, cocktail bun... just to name a few. The place is always well kept and clean. You're greeted right away upon entering. I recently tried the mango green tea, and it was delicious was very refreshing and reasonably priced. I also tried the mango strawberry pudding. I thought it was so cute in its container. It wasn't too sweet and very light.

It been awhile since I've visited the Westlake Shopping Center. It's supposedly one of the first shopping malls built in America and has gone through an updating and expansion. So after a recently lunch here, we decided to check out the Center and happened upon Sheng Kee. The original location on Irving Street has grown to eleven locations around the Bay Area. With self-service display cases of Chinese buns, pastries and various baked goods in plastic bags, you grab a tray and tongs and pick out the goodies that you want and pay at the counter. They have various flavors of bread on top of the display cases. There are cakes and other sweet desserts in the refrigerated cases and hot desserts like egg tarts and curry beef horns that you can order from the clerks. They have boba, tea and juice drinks as well. I bought: A loaf of black sesame toast. It was tasty with black sesame in the bread. Purple Romance with fresh taro. I bought it to compare to my favorite taro bun from the other chain bakery with the double digits it its name. This was good but not as good as my favorite as the there was too little taro filling. Lot of choices here and I'm sure there is something for everyone if you need to fill your Chinese baked goods cravings.

Picked up a strawberry cake with whipped cream for a birthday and everyone devoured it! The yellow cake was chiffony and very light and the whipped cream was fresh and not overly sweet. There were quite a few strawberries included in the cake, so it was really moist and delicious! Would definitely buy more cakes from Sheng Kee! I was at the Daly City location and they've really enlarged it. Lots of pastries in self-serve cases (use the tongs, please!!) and an area where you can sit and have beverages with your yummy pastries!

Yummy baked goods and pretty good drink menu - milk teas includes three free toppings of your choice. First time I've seen this option and it's good too. I like this location since it's spacious and spread out with tables. This place saved me when my area had a power outage as they have WiFi if you are a patron :) A plus is staff is also nice. Note I think there's a credit card minimum so bring cash for anything under $10/$15.
